Jett jockeys rattle Web
THE Web masters for Joan Jett's official site (www.joanjett .com) started a fury when they posted an open letter to Rolling Stone that voiced "disgust" with the magazine's "Women in Rock" issue, reports The Post's Mary Huhn. The letter, which everyone thought was penned by Ms. I Love Rock 'n' Roll herself, ripped into Rolling Stone for featuring Britney Spears, Shakira and Avril Lavigne, while skipping folks like the Donnas and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. "Rock is no longer a style of music but a trendy costume to be whipped up by expensive stylists and slapped onto the latest pop tart barbie doll," growled Jett's Web-writers. "Give a girl some tight pants and a spiky bracelet and poof! She rocks! Use the word 'rock' in bold letters next to a picture of Britney F- - -ing Spears, and you're turning your whole publication into a joke." But the letter, which made the e-mail rounds, wasn't written by Jett at all, but by Maya Price, a performer and writer. The site posted that information Monday. "I love the content, but we had nothing to do with writing it," said Kenny Laguna, Jett's musical partner.
